How the numbers were calculated

PulseKita transcribes the KPKT MyKPKT 2020-2024 time-series table and plots each state's published total of new and renewed Housing Development Licences and Advertisement & Sales Permits. Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan are absent because JPN's licensing under Act 118 covers Peninsular Malaysia.

  • 2024 national table total: 1,607 new + 1,146 renewals = 2,753 records.
  • The figures are licence/permit issuance records, not numbers of housing units or projects.
  • New and renewal activity are combined in this story only because the source publishes a total for each state; the underlying data remains stored separately.
  • The source notes that monthly-generated statistics may exclude later amendments or cancellations submitted after generation.
