How the numbers were calculated

PulseKita materializes JPN/DOSM Annual Live Births by District & Sex and keeps only the published 'both' sex rows. District labels are paired with state names for clarity. The visual ranks only the top 15 districts in each year rather than forcing every district onto screen.

• District is the mother's usual residence, not necessarily the hospital or physical place of birth. The number of administrative districts increased from 147 to 160 in 2021, so district-count comparisons across that boundary need care.
• Only source rows where sex="both" are used, preventing male and female rows from being added twice.
