Method & notes
IN BRIEF

Further-study plans, family responsibilities and other circumstances make 'not working' a more varied category than unemployment alone.

METHOD & LIMITATIONS

Self-reported reasons among non-working graduates only.

PulseKita reproduces the leading reasons published in MOHE Table 7.10. Each frame uses only graduates who reported that they were not working yet. MOTAC and KKR are excluded from this comparison because their non-working respondent bases were below 100.

  • The denominator is non-working graduates only, not all graduates.
  • The chart shows the first seven published reason categories; additional low-frequency reasons in the source are not visualised here.
  • MOTAC and KKR are excluded because their non-working respondent bases were 25 and 31 respectively.
  • Reasons are self-reported tracer-study responses and should not be interpreted as causal findings.
