Method & notes
The ratio is a useful capacity indicator, but it should not be confused with classroom size or teacher effectiveness.
METHOD & LIMITATIONSAdministrative student-to-teacher ratio, not class size.
PulseKita sums primary and secondary government-school enrolment and divides it by the corresponding primary and secondary teacher count for each state and year.
- This is an administrative student-to-teacher ratio, not average class size.
- A lower ratio does not by itself prove better teaching quality or learning outcomes.
- Form 6 enrolment is excluded because the teacher dataset covers primary and secondary stages only.
