Method & notes
Public healthcare staff counts show workforce scale by state, but should be read alongside population size and private-sector provision.
METHOD & LIMITATIONSHow the numbers were calculated
PulseKita filters the Ministry of Health healthcare-staff dataset to the all-staff total for each state, covering doctors, nurses, community nurses and dentists.
- This dataset covers public-sector healthcare staff and does not represent the entire private healthcare workforce.
- Absolute staff counts are affected by state population and the concentration of referral or specialist facilities.
- The data reflects active staff as at 31 December of each year and is currently published through 2022.
