Method & notes
The verified 2017–2020 snapshots all point to Lim Kok Thay, while the disclosed single-company package fell sharply after the 2018 peak.
METHOD & LIMITATIONSHow the numbers were calculated
PulseKita only labels a year 'highest paid' when a cross-company review explicitly names the winner. Company-level remuneration is preferred so group totals and multiple listed-company roles are not double counted. The current confirmed sequence covers 2017–2020; later annual-report figures are kept on the CEO Pay page as verified disclosures until a comparable market-wide review is completed.
- 2017 and 2018 use The Edge's Bursa-wide CEO compensation reviews.
- The Edge's 2020 review explicitly states Lim Kok Thay also held the top spot in 2019.
- For 2020, the plotted RM38.51 million is Lim's Genting Malaysia remuneration, the highest single-company figure cited in that review.
- This is a confirmed-snapshot timeline, not a claim that every year since 2017 has already been reviewed.
