Method & notes
IN BRIEF

Malaysia is #3/11 in the verified 2025 ASEAN subset by GDP per person employed.

METHOD & LIMITATIONS

How the numbers were calculated

PulseKita requests World Bank indicator SL.GDP.PCAP.EM.KD for all 11 ASEAN members and fixes the comparison to 2025. This is an economy-wide output-per-employed-person measure in constant purchasing-power-parity dollars. Older observations are not carried forward.

  • Malaysia records about PPP $70,821 per employed person in 2025 and ranks #3/11 among ASEAN members returned for the same year.
  • All requested ASEAN members returned a 2025 value.
  • GDP per person employed is not a wage measure. It does not tell us what the typical worker earns.
  • Higher output per worker can reflect capital intensity, sector mix and technology as well as worker productivity.
