METHOD & LIMITATIONS

How the numbers were calculated

PulseKita requests World Bank indicator SE.TER.CUAT.BA.ZS for all 11 ASEAN members and fixes the comparison to 2022. This is a stock measure of adult educational attainment, not a current-year graduation rate. Older observations are not carried forward.

  • About 14.6% of Malaysia's population aged 25+ had at least a Bachelor's-equivalent qualification in 2022, ranking #6/9 among ASEAN members with a same-year observation.
  • No 2022 value shown for: Cambodia, Myanmar.
  • This is cumulative attainment among adults aged 25+, so it reflects many years of education history rather than the current university pipeline alone.
  • Degree attainment is not a direct measure of skills, field of study, graduate employability, wages or job quality.
