Method & notes
State poverty rates provide a household-vulnerability view that complements income and wage statistics.
METHOD & LIMITATIONSHow the numbers were calculated
PulseKita uses DOSM's published absolute-poverty rate by state for each available household-income survey year.
- Absolute poverty means household income is below the applicable Poverty Line Income (PLI).
- The poverty line and survey methodology have evolved over the long historical series, so distant years should be interpreted in their published context.
- HIES is not conducted every year; frames represent published survey years.
- W.P. Putrajaya is only available separately from 2007; earlier residents were included under Selangor.
