PulseKita uses MOHE both-sex, all-citizenship academic-staff totals. Where MOHE provides an 'All Universities' state aggregate, we use it; otherwise we sum the universities located in that state.
- This counts academic staff, not students or total university employees.
- States with multiple public universities can have much larger academic workforces.
- The latest official open-data year is 2023.
