Method & notes
Crop tonnage reveals production scale, but it should not be confused with total agricultural GDP or the economic value of different crops.
METHOD & LIMITATIONSHow the numbers were calculated
PulseKita sums the published production field across crop groups for each state and year in the official Crop Area and Production by State dataset.
- This covers crop production only; it is not a measure of the whole agriculture sector because livestock, fisheries and other activities are outside this dataset.
- W.P. Putrajaya has no commercial-agriculture observation in the official dataset.
- Production volumes differ greatly by crop, so this ranking measures physical tonnage rather than economic value.
