Method & notes
IN BRIEF

The leading crime type can change over time, but raw counts should not be read as individual risk without population and exposure context.

METHOD & LIMITATIONS

How the numbers were calculated

PulseKita sums each published crime type across granular police-district rows for every year, excluding national aggregate rows before aggregation.

  • Crime-type labels are humanised from the source's published snake_case values.
  • The measure is a conviction-backed crime count, not a count of police reports.
  • Different offences can have very different reporting and enforcement dynamics.
