Method & notes
Long-run household counts reveal how Malaysia's residential footprint has shifted across states over five decades.
METHOD & LIMITATIONSCensus counts plus intercensal household estimates.
PulseKita uses DOSM's state household series. Census years use adjusted census counts, while intervening years are intercensal mid-year estimates.
- 1970, 1980, 1991, 2000, 2010 and 2020 are based on adjusted Population Census data.
- Other years are intercensal mid-year estimates.
- Household counts are different from living-quarter counts; living quarters also include empty dwellings.
