Method & notes
Breaking CPI into major spending divisions shows which categories accumulated the largest price-index increases relative to the 2010 base.
METHOD & LIMITATIONSInflation is many categories moving at different speeds.
PulseKita takes the latest available month in each calendar year for each 2-digit CPI division, joins DOSM's MCOICOP English labels, and displays index minus 100. With the published 2010=100 base, this shows how far each category's price index sits above that base.
- CPI is designed for representative inflation analysis; this story should not be substituted with raw PriceCatcher observations.
- The latest year may contain fewer than twelve months.
