District median income is a useful purchasing-power signal when read together with population, expenditure and cost conditions.
METHOD & LIMITATIONSHow the numbers were calculated
PulseKita uses DOSM's published district-level HIES median gross monthly household income. Values are nominal RM and are not adjusted for local price levels.
- Median household income is different from employee wages and per-capita income.
- HIES is survey-based; district estimates carry sampling uncertainty.
- Higher income does not automatically mean a better business location because rent, competition and category demand can also be higher.
